Training (Dinghy Junior – Buccaneers Programme)

Dinghy Buccaneers

Due to Covid 19 our Buccaneer sessions are being run in a different way this year. You must pre book! Please read on for more details.

Dinghy Buccaneers is for Junior sailors who have completed  an Advanced Pirates course and are seeking new challenges and to enhance their sailing skills.Juniors

The Autumn Buccaneers will meet at 2.00 pm on Sunday afternoons and will meet in two groups, with each group able to cater for five Buccaneers working with a volunteer instructor. Please be on time for the start of the session!

All sessions will be organised and run in a way that fits our current Covid protocols – as members of PSC I’m sure you are familiar with these. If not please see – Covid related Sailing Rules

The sessions will still be centered on a racing theme, with sessions that are instructive and yet fun, with a broad mixture of boat control, racing techniques and racing rules covered during the season. Buccaneers is an opportunity for Juniors to mix with others of a similar standard and share a semi-structured learning environment.

Buccaneers will be encouraged (as their skills develop) to participate in the Sunday morning ‘all comers’ racing and/or in the more relaxed Lazy Sunday afternoon racing when we are able to run these activities again.

Buccaneers sessions are free to Club members. Children whose parents are not Club members will be required to join as Junior Members and then can join in any of the Junior sessions throughout the year.

Junior Membership forms can be downloaded, or obtained from and returned to, the Membership Secretary Tony Ogborn.

How to book a session.

Please use the links below to book your session, remembering that there are a limited number of tickets for each session. Please only book sessions that you are confident that your child can attend and we would ask that members don’t make block bookings to give everyone an opportunity to benefit from these coaching opportunities.
