From a disused post war gravel extraction pit in the late 1970s to the popular, vibrant and friendly organisation Priory Sailing Club is today, the foresight of the founding members of PSC laid the foundation for thousands from the local community in the ensuing years to enjoy their time on the water close to the heart of Bedford.

In 2004, former Priory Water Sports Association Chair, Roy Beard, set out to chart the history of this unique club. He reveals a story of passion, generosity and dogged determination as well as windsurfing and sailing success as the sailing club, Priory Lake and the country park are brought to life in this all-encompassing account.
