Racing

General information on Club racing

There is a full programme of racing on Sundays throughout the year. Classes sailed include Lasers, Herons, Solos, Streakers and Toppers. The only restriction is that multi-hulls are not allowed and boats must have a maximum length of 16’3″.

Racing is an important part of Club life but we endeavour to ensure that recreational sailors are not prevented from enjoying their sailing at any time.

Everyone is encouraged to race – standard is not a barrier and novices are welcome. We feel that racing provides yet further opportunities for our members to continue to develop their sailing skills over several years.

Racing is held throughout the year (sun or snow!) with the year being divided into 5 separate racing series, which are detailed in the Series Information page. The race programme can be seen in the PSC Event calendar.

For those who race, the Club asks that you also contribute an occasional Race Officer Duty. This rota is organised by Pascale Hewett  and is distributed to Racing members.

Recent race results are available on the Racing results page.
All races are conducted in accordance with the Club’s Sailing Instructions and the Basic Factors for Club Races, copies of which are in the Club Racing Handbook.
